Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
Nurse Idaiza Pinto (f)

Nurse Pinto is available for all general practice nursing including chronic disease reviews, immunisations, smears and wound care. You can book to see her all day Monday, Wednesdays afternoons and Thursdays. On Thursday afternoon she runs the walk in baby clinic 2-4pm. 

Nurse Helen Brisbane (f)

Helen works as a Senior Case Manager with Doyin, in co-ordination with MyCare MyWay, to help plan for needs of our over 65s population. She runs clinic on Friday mornings at Golborne Medical and Monday afternoon with the GP at St Charles, as well as meeting patients and their carers throughout the week by appointment at the surgery or home-visit.

Nurse Thomas Buckley (m)

Nurse Tom  currently runs a monthly Saturday clinic on the 2nd to last Saturday of every month. He can be booked for all routine nursing excluding smears. He works outside the practice as a Nurse Educator, supporting trainee nurses develop careers in Primary Care 

Nurse Sonia Wijesundare (f)

Sonia is a Nurse Consultant with a special interest in Diabetes. She is also able to prescribe for common conditions and performs all general practice nursing including smear tests.

Healthcare Assistants

Mr David Mwenitite (m)

Healthcare assistants (HCAs) support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

David Mwenitete works from Tuesday - Friday as an HCA to support the role of the nurses and doctors. He can be booked for health checks, blood tests, high risk of diabetes reviews, dressings, spirometry and ECGs. 

Miss Doyin Elegbede (f)

Doyin joins us for the over 65s as a Health & Social Care Assistant (HSCA) and additionally can help support and co-ordinate care of our older residents when needed.
